Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts.

LOOK CLOSER
Psalm 139 begins with God knowing the writer completely.
It ends with a surprising prayer: “Search me.”
The point is not that God needs information.
The point is that we need honesty.
REAL LIFE
We can explain our actions and still miss our motives.
“I was only helping.”
“I was just being honest.”
“I had no choice.”
Sometimes the hardest person to examine is ourselves.
ONE SMALL STEP
Before your next difficult conversation, pause for one minute.
Ask God to show you what is really driving your words: love, fear, pride, hurt, or control.
