Ruth 1:16
Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.

LOOK CLOSER
This is not a promise made because life is easy.
Naomi has lost her husband and both sons.
Ruth chooses to stay when returning home would be safer.
Her loyalty includes Naomi’s people — and Naomi’s God.
REAL LIFE
Some people stay close only while things feel rewarding.
Ruth shows another kind of love.
It remains present when the future is unclear.
That can look like a call, a meal, a ride, or simply not disappearing when someone is grieving.
ONE SMALL STEP
Think of one person carrying a hard season.
Do one quiet thing that says: you do not have to face it alone.
