Matthew 6:3
But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,

LOOK CLOSER
Jesus is not only talking
about the gift.
He is talking about
the desire to be noticed.
The picture is almost funny:
give so quietly
that even your other hand
doesn't get the credit.
Mercy is not a performance.
MODERN VERSION
Some good things become
content before they become
compassion.
We help someone,
then immediately think
about the photo, the caption,
or who will know.
Jesus points to a quieter joy:
helping because someone needs help.
ONE SMALL STEP
Do one kind thing today
that cannot be traced back to you.
No announcement.
No hint.
No waiting for praise.
Let the act be enough.
REFLECT
What would quiet mercy look like today?
