Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

LOOK CLOSER
Hebrews is warning people
not to grow numb to God's voice.
The word is not described
as a dead sentence on a page.
It is living and active.
It does not just give information.
It reaches the person reading it.
REAL LIFE
Sometimes a Bible verse feels
like it is reading us back.
It exposes the motive
behind the decision.
The fear behind the anger.
The excuse behind the delay.
That can feel uncomfortable.
It can also be the beginning of honesty.
ONE SMALL STEP
Read Hebrews 4:12 slowly.
Do not ask only,
“What does this verse mean?”
Also ask,
“What is it showing me about myself?”
